PRIDE Digital Trail

This trail was first laid out about in 2002, using funds from Eastern Kentucky PRIDE. At that time the trail was designed to show a number of habitats and to interpret how those habitats would change over time by a process called ecological succession. The trail was meant to be short and easy for young children to hike. There is only one hill to climb and it is not too steep. It is 1 and 1/4 miles long and relatively flat. We wanted the trail to pass through several different habitats but also to pass by historical sites. Adding QR codes to the trail allows us to provide you with lots of information about the ecology of the site as well as its history. Follow the beige hiker signs. Take time to read the kiosk signs as they provide valuable information about ecological succession. Use your smart phone or tablet to scan the codes and learn about the History of Clay Hill.
